ESQL/C and MSDOS

Is anyone currently using ESQL/C with DOS? The last time I tested it I ran into a serious problem writing or updating records with greater than 20-30 fields. Was versions 2.1 and 4.1. Informix declared it a bug in the engine code but was given no indication of when it would be fixed.
