Finally figured this one out last week. Updating the group in case anyone else comes across this issue. a new bug number has been created BUG # 171453 and the issue is being looked into. this bug has to do with how the job is created when you use hpl ( i recreated the problem using the gui as well as onpladm). the default should be delimited but for some reason unless you specify delimited by using the -zD option and you are trying to load data into a table with a serial field bad things happen. the data in the serial field will be way off and i found not all of my rows were even loaded. basically the work around is simple just add the -zD to the job creation and the data loads correctly which consequently fixes the above problem with the engine crashing.. etc. i hate when people post a problem, no one ever posts a reply to it, and the problem was most likely resolved with tech support or whatever and then there is never anything updated on the original post, so i'll not be one of those people. so if your actually looking for this problem because your experiencing it and came across this post, i hope this will help you. good luck, ~Tisha
