Hi :> First of all, informix-net 5.01 works fine under windows 98 and exactly like it does under windows 95. Here is the list of possible reasons for error -932 (ie the ones I had to find out the last years): 1. Invalid hostname in SETNET. Can you ping that hostname? 2. Invalid servicename in SETNET Did you include the servicename in the windows services file? Does it point to the proper port number on the server? 3. Wrong version of winsock.dll or wsock32 in the search path on your client. Shouldnt happen anymore lately. But some old ISP software does weird things to the IP configuration. Strange enough there are circumstances where all the ipconf seems to be ok, telnet and so on works fine, but the informix things dont work. I had that with the dial-in software of German Telekom a lot. 4. DB-Server is not up and running 5. IP Installation is messed up Things like ip address conflicts and so on. Can you telnet to the server? Regards, Dirk
1. Yes, I can ping the hostname 2. I included this line in service file : Sqlexec 1525/tcp 3. My winsock version is 4.10.1998 Isn't a good one ? 4. DB-Server is running well 5. Telnet to the server works fine David Van Wallendael Dirk Gunsthoevel wrote: > David Van Wallendael wrote: > > > > Hi > > > > I 'm using informix-net 5.01 with Windows 98.I must connect to a > > database on a UNIX server but it does'nt work. > > When I try to connect with ilogin, i've always the same message n° -932 > > > > : Error on network connection, function system call failed. > > Hi :> > First of all, informix-net 5.01 works fine under windows 98 > and exactly like it does under windows 95. > > Here is the list of possible reasons for error -932 (ie the ones > I had to find out the last years): > > 1. I found it! The port 1525 was closed on the firewall so I couldn't connect! David Van Wallendael wrote: > 1. Yes, I can ping the hostname > 2.
