Idle, nothing to do.
For example, if the user is in the midst of data entry of a field, the
server thread has no work and would be 'Y'.
At the press of the Enter key, if a validation is done using the database,
there would be an instant (hopefully!) during which the Y could change
to B,C,G,L,S before reverting back to Y.

In an OLTP, it should be 'Y' most of the time. In an active DSS environment,
you will find many less 'Y's.
P.S. I owe you one. I have been looking for a way to find out which user
was 'hogging' a bogged down system and your query set me in the right
direction.
