This stuff was cutting edge when it came out as the Illustra Web DataBlade a few years ago but it's hardly developed at all. The logical next step would be to reimplement it as an XML engine -- the tags are roughly XML (SGML) compatible -- but Informix hasn't given any hint that I've seen that they've even thought of doing so.
