Our unix administrator is about to set up a File Volume Manager type of mirroring on our SGI crimson on which we run the ONLINE 5.00 engine with cooked files. Being pessimistic by choice, I can imagine scenarios of ONLINE's system info, ie: reserved pages, perhaps being out-of synch with the mirrored drive, should a switch to it ever be made. So I ask: can someone comment on unix-level mirroring and its value to data base environments?
