Re.: Scrolling within an input array...

I would like to thank everyone who responded to my query about controlling cursor movement in an input array statement. I had presented a simplified scenario involving blank lines. Actually there is more than 1 page of data and some of the data validity checks have to be performed by looking at the entire array and hence cannot be included in the after field/row clauses. An example is a user who is trying to enter a schedule of dates and times and would like to go up and down the array fine tuning it. Only when s/he decides to accept it, can I check on conflicts and such other issues. I talked to tech support and they confirmed that there is no way of programmatically moving the cursor above the current position on the screen. in 4GL-4.10. They also suggested a workaround for moving the cursor down by using a next field clause pointing to a noentry field. This was also suggested by David Stockel. For now, our users will have to make do with a reasonably descriptive error statement. At least they have the page up/down keys :-) Regards - Atul. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Atul Patankar | "There is always one more bug" email: apatanka@magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu | "My bug is bigger than yours" Phone (W): (614) 575 6652 | All Disclaimers apply. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Atul Patankar | "There is always one more bug" email: apatanka@magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu |
