Has anyone every tried this: Built a var that looks like in one function: LET this_row= "COLUMN 1, pr_row.group; COLUMN 13, pr_row.source; COLUMN 28, pr_row.course" I only build the var once, by calling the build_row function in FIRST PAGE HEADER and want to use it ON EVERY ROW by executing the below statement: PRINT this_row It Doesn't Work! Does anyone have a solution? I am building a report that allows the users to sort / group the fields on the report anyway they wish. The fields will then be printed in the order that they selected the sort in. Thank you!
Incorporate the order by that the user selects into the driving query and then do the report using that order. I always build a report like this in a temp table, then dump that to the report function. It seems to save on headaches. --EEM >-----Original Message----- >From: ids-bounces@iiug.org [mailto:ids-bounces@iiug.org] On Behalf Of >JENIFER ZUBER >Sent: Monday, October 17, 2011 1:50 PM >To: ids@iiug.org >Subject: 4gl rpt: built var w/ COLs & vars 2 pass in not pr [25215] > >Has anyone every tried this: >Built a var that looks like in one function: > >LET this_row= >"COLUMN 1, pr_row.group; COLUMN 13, pr_row.source; COLUMN 28, >pr_row.course" > >I only build the var once, by calling the build_row function in FIRST >PAGE HEADER and want to use it ON EVERY ROW by executing the below >statement: > >PRINT this_row > >It Doesn't Work!
