I suspect what you'd really like to know, however, is *how*. The answer is, it depends. Tell me the versions of both (servers and 4GL dev systems), operating systems, whether both db servers are on the same machine, what access priveliges you have, what sort of timeliness you need (seconds, hours, once/day) what transaction rate. You get the idea. I'm expert in both languages. (God, am I ever in Progress. We've done 2 million LOC in 18 months. F*****g GUI systems. My next project is back in Informix 4GL.
