If so, can you tell us how useful > it is? Send your comments to this List please. InformixLink is just over 1 year old and is available to maintenance customers and partners only. It began as a VAR information systems and has recently been opened up to all partners and to end users. The number of users is growing. We now have several hundred users and worldwide participation. > We recently received some junk mail from Informix about InformixLink. The > one-page "Info Sheet" says that their TECH NOTES are on the bulletin board. > Hey Informix, does this mean that you are no longer going to publish those > nice little booklets? Will we all have to shell out big bucks for Informix- > Link just to get the latest copies of TECH NOTES? > You can get ALL the Tech Notes on InformixLink and the new ones are typically available there FIRST while the hardcopies get printed and sent out. > Also we haven't received a copy of TECH NOTES in a long time. When is the > next issue comming out? (We do have a maintenance contract and we are > supposed to get these.) Also, how can we get back issues? Back issues are available on InformixLink and you can also get hardcopies of back issues (while they last) by contacting Debbie Rye in Informix Customer Services at 415-926-6671 or by faxing her at 415-926-6626. The new edition of TechNotes is at the press now and, if you are a named contact for your company, look for it in the mail mid-December. This is the first and only issue for 1991 and it's in a new format. > > The one-page "Info Sheet" also says that the on-line databases contain > information about "technical tips and techniques." Has anyone used > any of their databases? How useful is the technical information as it > relates to 4GL programming? I just searched the database and there are 160 entries on 4GL. Here are a few of the titles. In addition to these entries, the bugs and porting databases are updated weekly.
