SMITH JOHN, on IDS 9.40.FC9, could not lock a table exclusively; sysmaster syslocks showed IX locks owned by session 15 with no such session visible. Dan Mueller suspected an internal engine session, seen after an index build in HDR, and suggested a stack trace. Fernando Nunes asked about onstat -u. Dan explained working back from onstat -k to the thread id and onstat -g stk. Unresolved.

With such a low session number I would think it is one of the engine's
sessions. I run into this scenario after an index build in HDR. Can you trace
things back to where you can get a stack trace? That would be helpful as to
what is actually going on.

onstat -u doesn't show the SID 15? A low number can probably be an internal
session...

Using onstat work backwards from an onstan -k. Find the owner, get the thread
id onstat -g stk against the tid
