Ontape archiving to disk

We currently run ontape for several of our Informix database and write the output to disk. We have run into a problem when the file size exceeds 2G. We know the limitation is a bug in online dynamic server 7.23 uc1. What I need is a work around to do either an in-pipe compress or multiple files to disk (can be done by setting the LTAPESIZE parameter). I have not had much success with either. Can anyone offer any ideas that might help? Thank you in advance, L Vance
