JDBC connection to a database with "C" collation?
Posted in 2004
Hi,
I am trying to make a JDBC connection to an Informix database with the
collation of the type "C", which is a SAP database.
If I execute "select * from sysdbslocale" I get the following ...
dbs_dbsname dbs_collate
-------------- --------------
sysmaster en_US.819
sysutils en_US.819
masterplan C
I can connect to the sysmaster and sysutils databases, but not the
masterplan database. When I try, I get the error "Locale not
supported". The JDBC connection URL that I use is the following ...
jdbc:informix-sqli://192.168.1.98:1526/masterplan:informixserver=informix_stallion;LANG=C;LC_CTYPE=de_DE;LC_COLLATE=C;
1. Does anyone know what the "C" collation means?
2. How can I make a JDBC connection supporting this collation?
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
John
Below are some configuration values for my environment.
Issuing this command on the server ... "select tabname, site from
systables where tabname like '%GL%' " ... results in ...
tabname site
----------- ---------
GL_COLLATE en_US.819
GL_CTYPE en_US.819
Server environment variables are ...
set INFORMIXDIR=c:\\informix
set INFORMIXSERVER=ol_masterplan1
set ONCONFIG=ONCONFIG.ol_masterplan1
set PATH=c:\\informix\\bin;%PATH%;
set INFORMIXSQLHOSTS=\\\\AA005444set DBTEMP=c:\\informix\\infxtmp
set CLIENT_LOCALE=de_DEset DB_LOCALE=
set SERVER_LOCALE=
set DBLANG=EN_US.CP1252
mode con codepage select=1252
set DBNLS=2
set LANG=C
set LC_CTYPE=de_DE
set LC_COLLATE=C
When a client application (ODBC) needs to view the database, for
example, ms access, before connecting the user must run this script
...
set INFORMIXDIR=c:\\informix
set INFORMIXSERVER=ol_masterplan1
set ONCONFIG=ONCONFIG.ol_masterplan1
set PATH=c:\\informix\\bin;%PATH%;
set INFORMIXSQLHOSTS=\\\\AA005444set DBTEMP=c:\\informix\\infxtmp
