Foxpro file structure

I want to write an ESQL/C program which will read the data from a large Foxpro 2.6 file loaded on the CD-ROM drive of my HP 750 and load selected fields into an informix table. I will be receiving updates frequently, and I do not want to go through the convoluted process of unloading the file to ascii format on a PC, then transferring it to the HP. I have an old dBase III manual which details the header structure of the dbf file. However, the header in Foxpro 2.6 is apparently different. The "tech support" I called at Microsoft said he did not know of any documentation of the header structure of their files. Unreal. Does anyone know where I can get the header structure of a Foxpro file?
