Cannot Open Sys.Catalogs & Table Space

%UNIPLEX %TO informix-list@rmy.emory.edu %FROM anand %SYSTEM DHLNET %SUBJECT Cannot Open Sys.Catalogs & Table Space %VERIFY y %REGISTERED y %DATE 21/11/94 20:42 %REFERENCE 254541 Hi Fellow Net Users,~ Few Days back, I had asked for guidance about How to Patch System Catalogs, May be I will phrase it out again with real situation~ During in of our busy time, something went wrong with Disk I/O Card and system HP-UX has many databases running non stop in which one database is sitting on Cooked Device. During SOS, informix marked one of the chunk as Down (PD) and dumped all the processes in /tmp/infx_dump. Later when everything (card) was settled and I brought the informix into online. Ghosh! all our databases sitting on raw devices were okay except this on a cooked device. I did everything I know like running tbcheck / shutting down. But all in vain. Later ofcourse Informix Tech. Support helped to bring everything back to normal.~ My Question~ 1. What is best approach for settling the issue i.e Patching of the System catalogs and bring back device to On-Line.~ Errors Encountered~ 1. Cannot Open System Catalogs~ 2.
