RE: Solaris memory management
Posted in 2005
Dirk,
I run 7.31.FD4 on Solaris 9. there is a line in the release notes (filename
IDS_7.3)
"The maximum size of any shared memory segment is 4294967295 bytes(approx.
4GB)."
I use RESIDENT -1, SHMVIRTSIZE 4096000 and SHMADD 2048000 and have 7
segments allocated (total 16Gb). With RESIDENT set, I cannot go over 4Gb for
each segment - see previous postings
