Hi there, I'm been using the SQL Developer GUI from: http://sqldeveloper.solyp.com/ I'm using this to run queries on a Informix 10 db and also draw diagrams of the table relationships. When connnecting to my database I notice that all the other dbs on the server are displayed e.g: Databases -> |- my_db@my_server |- Catalogs (server) |- alex_db |- bob_db |- ... |- my_db |- paul_db I think all these extra databases cause the diagram editor to slow down a great deal. Is it possible to get SQL developer to ignore all other databases apart from the one I've specified in my connection string? I use the driver: com.informix.jdbc.IfxDriver and this connection string: jdbc:informix-sqli://localhost:1541/ my_db:informixserver=my_server Many Thanks Andrew
Hello Andrew, Not familiar with that GUI so your theory may be correct. Other things to check are all the parts of your pipeline. Just as water is limited by your smallest pipe, data is limited by your slowest component. For example: disk ---> memory ---> cpu ---> network ---> screen Figure out what all your parts are and check the speed of each one. -L.S.
