I have rewritten versions of dbload and dbunload to work for all data types ( including BLOB and TEXT ). We used them on a large project with the IRS to load 6 million rows into a table. My versions run 5+ times faster than the informix versions. I can provide ported versions to your environment ( and possibly sources ). The load utility uses INSERT cursors to optimize performance. The load utility assumes an imput file with columns delimited by pipes ( ie. '|' ).
