Informix in St Louis goes way back... Anheuser-Busch was so much in love with the product back in the 1980's they actually bought some version of source code from Informix, but I can't remember what release it was but they really had it wired up with a lot of C code and Informix. Very "pre" 4GL kind of shop. A-B had a really industrious effort in C, and Informix. They were doing a lot of UUCP email back before UNIX was really cool, shipping program payloads to remote sites, and all kinds of crazy UNIX stuff. Then they got into Visual Basic and trying to build distributor software that helped distributors manage a beer cooler at a store, with a kind of visual map of the cooler. They were one of the hot Informix sites in St Louis 15+ years ago but I'm not sure what they're using now. As well as the Informix effort A-B were also very big on Prime Information, in the later 80's (generally for the Brewery Maintenance IIRC) which morphed into Universe (AKA U2), yet another product purchased by IBM and now is very quiet. Not sure if they are still using that either.
