Text is a Blob data type and yes inserting text is different than
char and varchar. Please post what application you want to use
to do the insertion (ESQL, 4GL, etc) and that will help you find
someone who can help you.

}
} I'm trying to insert a row into a table that has a column with TEXT data type.
}
} Everyway I try to do this I get errors. Like Error -608, when I try to run a
} simple INSERT statement from the SQL Editor window.
}
} For example
} CREATE TABLE FOO (My_ID INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, BAR TEXT NOT NULL);
} INSERT INTO FOO (My_ID,Bar) VALUES (1,'Some text for this field');
}
} In which case I get error -617,
} "A Blob Data type must be supplied within this context"
}
} How do I do that?
}
} Is there some trick to adding TEXT data into a table that is
} different from adding CHAR,VARCHAR data?
}
} Also, the application is a LiveWire one, so the methods that might be available
} to C programmers won't work in this case.
}
} Thanks.
