dbserveralias question
Posted in 2004
Hello folks,
I'm still kinda new to the DBA game, but have been tasked with creating db
server aliases that work on our development box so that testing/development
can move off our production server. We are running HP/UX 11.0 and Informix
7.31.UC4. Below are my entries that I have created in the onconf and
sqlhosts files. The idea is that developers who are writing cgi and apps
don't have to worry about the Informix server name. To that extent, I put in
the sqlhosts and dbserveralias entries in their proper files. What seems to
be happening though is that when cgi's get called, they are pulling data
from the production server rather than the development server. Can anyone
see where I might have screwed up with my entries? Thanks in advance, will
summarize for the list.
