What are you using to manage your disks - Volume Manager ? If it is, you can run vxedit to make the permissions permanent. -----Original Message----- From: owner-informix-list@iiug.org [mailto:owner-informix-list@iiug.org] On Behalf Of Five Cats Sent: Thursday, June 10, 2004 10:21 AM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: SOLARIS Question - possibly slightly OT We have noticed on a couple of SOLARIS boxes (different versions of SOLARIS) that rebooting seems to reset the owner & group of the physical devices for the raw disk back to root & root. Of course a script in /etc/rc2.d can fix this, but does anyone know why this is happening and if it's possible to prevent it in the first place? If I should go away and find a SOLARIS group to ask in, please tell me! BTW please do not copy any follow-ups to my email address, as I rarely check it.
