HP TERMCAP AND DISPLAY REVERSE?
Posted in 1994
I'm having trouble with the hp Termcaps found in techinfo when it comes to displaying in reverse in 4GL. If I have a bordered window and display a line with ATTRIBUTE(REVERSE), the right border of the window and anything on the underlying window to the right of the border is blank (not reverse, just blank). Even worse is that redisplaying the line ATTRIBUTE(NORMAL) or closing the window does not cause the blank part to redisplay, because 4GL doesn't know it needs to be repainted. My only solution has been ^R, which will be hard to explain to the users. I think the problem lies in how reverse is being turned off. Has anyone with HP/TERMCAP expertese figured out what needs to be done? I'm actually accessing from a PC using Advancelink and emulating hp, but I think I've seen something like this on the actual hp terminals as well. Below is the termcap entry I'm using: h4|hp|hpterm|hp2645|2645|hp2640b|2640b|hp 264x series:\\ :if=/usr/lib/tabset/stdcrt:\\ :ms:al=\\EL:am:bs:cd=\\EJ:ce=\\EK:ch=\\E&a%dC:cl=\\EH\\EJ:\\ :cm=6\\E&a%r%dc%dY:\\ :co#80:cv=\\E&a%dY:da:db:dc=\\EP:dl=\\EM:ei=\\ER:im=\\EQ:\\ :kb=^H:ku=\\EA:kd=\\EB:kl=\\ED:kr=\\EC:kh=\\Eh:ks=\\E&s1A:ke=\\E&s0A:\\ :li#24:mi:ml=\\El:mu=\\Em:nd=\\EC:pt:se=\\E&d@:so=\\E&dJ:\\ :us=\\E&dD:ue=\\E&d@:up=\\EA:xs:\\ :k0=\\033p:k1=\\033q:k2=\\033r:k3=\\033s:\\ :k4=\\033t:k5=\\033u:k6=\\033v:k7=\\033w:\\ :k8=\\033a:k9=\\033b: ======================================================================= Dennis J.
