In article <3ng578$dda@cssun.mathcs.emory.edu>, warlok!kysilk.sherwood.com!jerry@uunet.uu.net says most eloquently... [some stuff deleted for bandwidth preservationists] >Mr. Frantz, >I suggest that you think before you write. Not only did you spam code >that was donated to the group, but then you went into a shameless Now, I'm curious, isn't spamming when you talk about a different topic than the intended topic, i.e. ORACLE, ACCESS, ? I would think John was slammin' not spammin', but of course if you live in England, and you run into the Monte Python group, they might sing with you the SPAM song. >commercial for your own product. I would also like to point out to >you than this group is to share code and ideas, not your personal >commercial channel. I request that you respect the members of this >group and their individual contributions since, unlike you, the >articles they submit are for the benifit of the group and not to make >a buck. Since John doesn't live here in America, it's hard for him to make a buck, unless that's the national currency of his country. Of course if they sell livestock, such as deer, then indeed he could make a buck, but technically it would be the deer that would actually cary this out. And, let's not forget what this group is based on, a COMMERCIAL product. So, technically anything that provides me with an improved product to augment or enhance the forum's product, in this case INFORMIX, why let him have his say. Anybody that would have the guts to promote their product here to the betterment of the INFORMIX 4GL is only helping you in the long run because they <ARE> indeed promoting INFORMIX, and INFORMIX Corp gets the advertising FOR FREE. This is a parasitical relationship, but it does indeed promote a win-win solution. I'm an INFORMIX parasite every time I consult and program their products, We both win. You see this in nature, like those little fish that clean Barracuda teeth, or swim with the sharks. Or those birds that eat bugs off the backs of big game in Africa. You are always free to ignore a post like his, or even mine, which I admit probably appear too frequently as of late. :-) Join the other boys for some cookies and milk, and take your chill pill. >Jerry M.
