{Problem with onbar closing current log and causing the event alarm
handler program/script to try to backup the log SNIPPED]
There is a simple solution. Have your event handler check for the
existence of a file on disk. If the file is there do not back up logs
just return. Then the script that starts onbar, or the storage manager
process, can touch the file before starting onbar and remove it
afterward. In addition, the event handler can also touch and remove
the file, preventing two copies from trying to start up if logs are
filling very quickly as can happen during bulk loading operations. The
onbar startup script can also check for the file and wait for the
eventhandler to remove it so it will know that the last completed log
has been backed up already.
