To answer Kerry's question: I live in San Jose, and have been to San Jose Live numerous times. Yes, there is live music, and also DJ music. It is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY loud. It would be impossible to hold any type of conversation in that place, so stay out if conversation is your goal.
