Would you tell me is there any Linux version of Informix? Yes and No... If you are running LINUX on an ALPHA box -- then Digital UNIX executables can run under LINUX. Hence, it would be possible to convert Digital UNIX executables to run under LINUX. Digital Services once used its Sun binaries migration tool (which is similiar) to move an early version of Sybase 10 to Digital UNIX and then proceed to use the ported binaries to win a Sybase benchmark over Sun and IBM. I guess that got Sybase interested enough and where this is an officially supported version under Digital UNIX from Sybase today. Could Informix be persuaded to support LINUX? I'll try to find specific reference to the issue of running Digital UNIX binaries under LINUX. For the negative side, as look as your Alpha is also licensed for Digital UNIX and Informix, then rebooting with LINUX and running Informix may be possible. Other scenarios should be taken up with your local Informix rep. Regards, ljt
