Online 5.04 Question: Reading Logical Logs

We have suffered a disk crash which highlitghted a problem with our Level 0 archives (Informix bug number 18027). As a result, some of our blobs are missing, they had not been backed up (this problem may be fixed in 5.05). However, we do have the logical log tapes going back through the 2 weeks preceding the disk crash (the time period from which most of the documents are missing). Does any one have any experience of trying to recover Blobs directly from the log tapes? BTW, when we tried to run the logs against the recovered database, this failed as well.
