You must check your services file on your PC as well as on AIX for compatibility (same name and number on the service entry), that the applicable entry isn't on the last line (at least a blank line after it) and a multiude of other things. There should be some info on this in the FAQ at www.iiug.org These problems with I-Net is but one of the reasons why we try to avoide ODBC drivers based on it. There are several better alternatives.
