You may not suffer an adverse effect on account of filling up the logical logs even though it is not guaranteed. I come from the remittance processing world with equally serious consequences when transactions do not balance out during the end of the day. I had several incidences similar to what you have encountered but in every single case the database remained free of complications. Regards, Ravi.
