Quoting Stephen Eldredge... } } Just a note of appreciation to all those of you who responded with } suggestions regarding my shared memory problems. It is good to see that } there are still many generous enough to help someone in need. } } Special thanks to David Snyder for his solution. } The solution for this one is simple... first: OS = Sco Unix/Sco ODT Product = Online v4.0, v4.1, v5.0 First: Configure online the way you want it to be. Expect it to bomb on the first time because of insufficient Shared Memory. Second: Multiply the total amount of shared memory required by online by 1024. Third: Tune the SHMMAX kernel parameter to be >= the value calculated above. Fourth: Relink the kernel and reboot the system. Fifth: Without changing any online parameters, initialize online like you were doing it for the first time. That's all there is to it. To date, this method has worked on 16 machines running Informix-ONLINE and SCO Unix or ODT.
