Enter VS Ctrl-C key
Posted in 2004
Hi everybody, We are migrating from IBM/AIX/Informx 7.3 to SunSolaris/Informix 9.4. I have this scenerio: in a 4GL code: START REPORT scrp_sql TO PIPE "arrf hist_scash.4ge |pg". When a program finished running and it produced a displayed statement on a screen (from 'arrf' which is a print script) - see belolw (this is only a bottom portion): x Downloading Cash Trans Data ... Please Wait...$/dev/null: unknown printer -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------- ********************** ARRF ************************* ******** Automated Report Routing Facility ******** ***************************************************** Report output for hist_scash.4ge has been saved in /sporty1/UAT/ms4/tmp/hist_scash.1137 8 -rw-rw-r-- 1 u439479 pncstaff 3532 Jul 13 07:24 /sporty1/UAT/ms4/tmp/hist_scash.1137 ARRF: lp -tu439479 -d$/dev/null /sporty1/UAT/ms4/tmp/hist_scash.1137 (EOF):'cursor' is here. In a AIX box, when an user hit 'Enter' key (ritght after (EOF): statement), it worked fine (it goes back to previous menu). However in a SunSolaris box, an user has to hit 'CTRL-C' in order to get out of a screen mode (because the 'Enter' key did not work). It is a one stroke key against two strokes. My question here is what do we need to do to make a 'Enter' key work? Is there an alternative command to use instead of 'pg'? Or is it needed to changed in a config. file or env. file or somewhere in a system?
