Re: ACE Report Question

Hi! I know of know easy way to do this, but that's to be expected of someone with only a couple weeks experience in ACE. So what I'll suggest is a roundabout method, and maybe by the time you read this, someone would have sent you an efficient way. You could use a UNIX script wrapper to set-up your environment variables, change directory, to the $HOME directory, and run the ACE report. Then if you normally have some overall menu written in 4GL or I-Menu or whatever, where you can configure what command is run to execute the report, you could specify the UNIX script instead. With this method, your ACE report would only need to have the: report to "reportname" line in it, and if one would like to run the report with output to the home directory, they can call the script (place the script in some shared directory). If they would like the output in the current directory (which may not be $HOME), then they can just run the report directly with the sacego command (you could setup an alias if your users non-Bourne shells). If you find an easier way, let me know. We use ACE extensively here as well. And we're not ashamed of it. The thing works bloody well, so who can complain?! ;) At 06:46 PM 10/13/97 EDT, you wrote: > > >I know, I know.
