unable to generate form in isql

We're running ids 7.3 on hp-ux11i. We've been using isql to generate forms for years. Now, suddenly it will no longer generate a form. After entering the form name isql returns to the main Form menu instead of prompting for the table. No onscreen messages, nothing in online.log or console.log. Everything else seems to be working fine. We can generate a form on another database instance on the same machine running under the same software. Can't think of anything that's changed on the system in the last few months. Any clues, anyone seen this before ? Thanks R

Nope. Pity HP-UX does not have truss or strace or any supported way of tracing system calls made by a process. Download tusc and trace the process. Is the current directoy writable?
