Compile .ec?

I've installed INFORMIX-OnLine 7.22.UC2 PRODUCT RELEASE on my SCO OpenServer5.0 and created a database---mydb and some tables. I write a easy program as below: /* a.ec */ #include <stdio.h> EXEC SQL include sqlca; main() { $database mydb; /* database mydb */ printf("open database\\n"); $update kh /* table kh */ set department="computer science" where number=101; /* department and number are columns */ printf("update complete\\n"); } I use "esql a.ec -o aa" to compile it,then I execute aa,it shows: $dynamic linker : aa : error opening libixsql.so Killed I'm a beginner to informix so I feel puzzled. Someone else posted essentially the same question earlier today. The problem is your app cannot see the shared libraries. You need to export the following environment var: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$INFORMIXDIR/lib:$INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql:/usr/libexport LD_LIBRARY_PATH Art S. Kagel
