Problems with Informix (DOS) & Netware?

Not being an Informix programmer, I'd appreciate getting reactions from some of the more experienced users regarding the following: A review committee met recently to learn why a local Informix VAR had exceeded both time and cost estimates in developing a rather simple Informix (DOS) database for a Netware network and why the database still failed to function as expected. For example, network server performance degraded significantly if a second local client logged into the application. The VAR attributed these problems to a reputed business decision by Informix to reduce their support of the DOS/Netware platform, in favor of more advanced OS's. His recommended fix was to port the Informix application to an SCO Unix platform. Frankly, I suspect that this technically unsophisticated committee received a snow job, given Informix's reputation for supporting multiplatform, "industrial-strength" applications. What say you all?
