NewEra VCL/character and Background Tasks

I have written a couple of programs, which run on sun boxes, I have used NewEra & VCL/Character because we do not have any X terminals connected. the main problem is that making the applications run without a connection to a terminal is impossable, at the moment one of these applicaitons is running under cron, with a set of scripts which sets it up to use the console when it runs, thus any person using the console gets a nasty screen clear when the app runs. Does anyone know of a way in which I can get these applicaitons (which under normal operaton require no screen input or output) to run without a connection to a terminal.. -- Mathew Dredge CSE (NZ) Ltd.
