Just to clear up some apperant confusion: Informix is a company that sell DBMS's (Database Management Systems), development tools and some other products and services. A DBMS is a DBMS, it doesn't support another or provide it's own. A development tool can support, or be used with, different dbms's. Informix has Informix 4GL which is a development tool for character based development on Unix. This can only be used with DBMS's from Informix. They also sell NewEra which is a GUI development tool available for MS Windows and X-Windows/Motif mainly for Informix databases, but can also be used with other DBMS's. Both can be used both for client/server and server only development with 1000's of users if you buy the hardware required.
