Dynamic Arrays
Posted in 1991
Dieter, You write asking about positioning in input arrays. This can be done using dynamic arrays where the program array is 2 bigger than the screen array and you use fetch and scroll to move around automatically. This allows the programmer to position the required row as the first one in the screen array. Examples of how this is done is given in the Tech Notes Autumn 87? (I think?). Alternatively if you ask my colleague Tony Heskett theskett@lhr-sys.ssf-sys.tho.com I am sure that he will send you a copy of a generic dynamic array handler I wrote while I was in London. (For Tony: Sorry to volunteer you like this Tony but I don't have a copy. It's in SSS source, program lkup_code.4gl. By the way have you stopped hitting the forward key yet.)
