IDS 9.4 install problem
Posted in 2005

I've installed the following on a new AIX 5.3 (32-bit kernel) system
(p520):
(In this order)
SDK 2.81.UC2
4GL Compiler 7.32.UC2
RDS 7.32.UC2
4GL Debugger 7.32.UC2
SQL 7.32.UC2
IDS 9.40.UC5
I've set INFORMIXDIR and added INFORMIDIR/bin to my path
When I attempt to bring up onmonitor (or oninit), I get the following:
DET_WMSN:/informix> onmonitor
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program onmonitor because of the following
errors:
0509-130 Symbol resolution failed for /usr/lib/threads/libc.a(aio.o)
because:
0509-136 Symbol kaio_rdwr (number 0) is not exported from
dependent module /unix.
0509-136 Symbol listio (number 1) is not exported from
dependent module /unix.
0509-136 Symbol acancel (number 2) is not exported from

dependent module /unix.
0509-136 Symbol aio_nwait_timeout64 (number 7) is not exported

never
mind - I needed to change Asynchronous I/O from "defined" to
"available".
Thanks to those who already replied!

SDDK
2.81.UC2 => internally it is 9.53.UC2
The order of installation should have been
Application tools,
Server
SDK
People, correct me if I am wrong.

I was a
bit unsure about that, since I had seen the rule of TENS, but
somewhere I also saw that it was recommended to install lowest numbered
versions first.
I also figured that if SDK was hosed, I could always re-install it at the
end.
Thx
