MSC v7.0 & Informix (dos)

I am unable to create a new sperform with Informix 2.10xxx (esql/c) and Microsoft v7.0 c compiler. Has anyone got it to work? I know it works great with 6.0; (well, as great as it could - Informix's 2.1 blah!). I am awaiting the release of 4.0xxx of Informix DOS and have been toying with 2.1 in the meantime. How about some comments from the beta tester of the new DOS version. Is is something to look forward to?
