System Catalog tables

I'm running Informix ONLINE 5.0 on an HP-UX 9.0 9000/832
I have two databases defined (student and gradsch) with multiple
tables in each that have been in use for two years or more.
When I do:
tbcheck -cI -cD -q student
I get:
WARNING: No syscolauth records found.
ISAM error: no record found. ERROR: No table found for syssynonyms record.
Tabid 192
Server name
Database Name gradsch
Owner informix
Table name studname
Tabid of base table -2147483648
When I do:
tbcheck -cI -cD -q gradsch
I get:
WARNING:No syscolauth records found.
WARNING:No sysdepend records found.
WARNING:No syssyntable records found.
WARNING:No sysviews records found.
These messages have been happening for some time, probably
since I started running these tbcheck commands. Everything
seems to work ok I just think there ought to be a way to
get rid of these obnoxious messages.
So I discovered that the command
tbcheck -cI -cD -q dbname
actually does the I and D and then gets confused and also
does a -cc. Evidently you can't do this like you would a normal
Unix command. So when I run:
tbcheck -cI -q student
and
tbcheck -cD - q student
there is no output.
When I run:
tbcheck -cc -q
I get:
WARNING:No syscolauth records found.
WARNING:No sysdepend records found.
WARNING:No syssyntable records found.
WARNING:No sysviews records found.
WARNING:No syscolauth records found. (Twice?)
ISAM error: no record found. ERROR: No table found for syssynonyms record.
Tabid 192
Server name
Database Name gradsch
Owner informix
Table name studname
Tabid of base table -2147483648
WARNING:No syscolauth records found.
WARNING:No sysdepend records found.
WARNING:No syssyntable records found.
WARNING:No sysviews records found.
Notice that the above output does not indicate which database
it's referring to. By setting up a Perform screen for the
student:syssyntable there is one row and it contains the above
information.
I have set up the following synonyms:
DATABASE gradsch;
CREATE SYNONYM s_mcodes FOR student:mcodes;
CREATE SYNONYM s_academic FOR student:academic
DATABASE student;
CREATE SYNONYM sn FOR gradsch:studname
I run UPDATE STATISTICS at appropriate times with no change
and no problems. Reading the manual 'INFORMIX Guide to SQL
Reference version 4.10 it talks about these tables but as
near as I can determine, it doesn't say how the data gets
into them.
The table studname is in the database gradsch so how did this
row get in the student:syssyntable instead of the
gradsch:syssyntable? Do I dare 'Delete' the row in
student:syssyntable and re-enter it in gradsch:syssyntable?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Dick
