Missing library for onbar
Posted in 1999

I am in the midst of investigating using onbar over onarchive.
When I execute onbar <any options> nothing happens, but I get
this error posted to /tmp/bar_act.log
1999-10-29 07:31:46 29037 20279 ERROR: Could not open XBSA library
/usr/lib/ibsad001.so.
I think this has something to do with XBSA dependencies.
If this is the problem, where would one get XBSA for a Sun running
Solaris 2.6?

OK here is my monthly version info flame and, Jon, unfortunately you are
the victim. IF YOU DO NOT POST VERSION AND PLATFORM INFORMATION WE CANNOT
REALLY HELP YOU! Even if it seems irrelevant POST COMPLETE VERSION AND
PLATFORM INFORMATION WITH EVERY QUESTION. That includes Informix version,
CPU platform, and OS version (OK you give these last two). Sorry that is
not for you alone, but by the end of the month I get cranky after asking
for version info several dozen times.
In this case the IDS version is absolutely relevant. IFF you have IDS
7.3x then you already have an XBSA library and an IM. IDS 7.3x comes with
Legato Networker Lite and its XBSA library. If you have either 7.30 or
7.31 then read the manual to find out how to link the library to the name
that OnBar is looking for and how to setup and configure IM and onbar.
If you have 7.2x then you have onbar but no IM and no XBSA and so you will
either have to upgrade to 7.3x or purchase an XBSA library from a backup
software vendor along with their backup software to use as an IM.
