View Management Tools

Are there any tools out there to manage database views? I have found that on every database I have designed, in order to meet the needs of users (who are only interested in querying logical views of the data), I end up creating large numbers of views which are nested in intricate ways. I lose track of how the views are related, and short table names make it difficult to remember which view does what. I have used Intersolv's Forest+Trees tool which is great for creating and managing views, but the views are local to the PC and performance is poor. For example, one view which I created took 8 HOURS to run, and when I created the same thing on Informix a query took 2 minutes. So what I am looking for is a PC Tool that can manage my Informix views resident on UNIX. I want to be able to create views, use long filenames for them (at least for management purposes), and be able to see the view "tree" which shows relationships between views. Does anything like this exist? Carl
