Informix 7.22 TC1 will only work with service Pack 3 or lower. The reason for this is that in service pack 4 and 5, the security on Event Viewer has been changed so that only certain services and users can write to the event viewer. Informix writes to the event viewer all the time, therfore you need to grant the informix services the right to write to event viewer. However For service pack 4 and 5, upgrading informix to 7.30 TC7 is recommended.
