Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
A user on Red Hat Linux 4 with IDS 11.0 reported that dbaccess garbles query output: running a multi-line SELECT echoes leftover fragments of the statement (e.g. "systables / where tabid > 1;") after the result row. Responders confirmed it was a known dbaccess bug: a fix was expected on Fix Central around Feb 8, and upgrading to the next IDS 11 release would resolve it. Interim options were requesting a patch from IBM support (though that takes about 15 days, roughly the same wait) or copying the older, working dbaccess binary from a previous installation, which works but isn't IBM-recommended.
Auto-generated by DrWatson from the posts below — may be imperfect; read the full thread.
We have the same setup of RH Linux 4 update 5 and IDS 11.0. We have recently
installed IDS and are in AMC. We are having the problem in dbaccess as the
one shown
select
count(*)
from
systables
where
tabid > 1;
The result would be:
count(*)
220
systables
where tabid > 1;
Please help us to know..
when the patch will be available and can we inform about this to our vendor
?
Thanks
I've been told the patch will be available around 2/8. It will be posted
to fix central.

You can ... but the patch process takes like 15 days ... and that
basically will put you at the same time frame of the fix release ...

Re: dbaccess problem in IDS 11 [11032]
Upgrading to next release of IDS11 will definitely fix this issue. In the
mean
while, you could contact IBM support for a patch.

That is true ... and it does work ... but not recommended by IBM.

Re: dbaccess problem in IDS 11 [11039]
One workaround is to copy and use previous working version of dbaccess
binary
from old installation.
