Marie You can increase the LOCKS parameter in the onconfig file. If you dont = want to lock the entire table and if your lock mode is ROW (you can = check this with SELECT tabname,locklevel FROM systables WHERE tabid > = 99), and if the user who is running your archive program has resource = permission you can ALTER TABLE tabname LOCK MODE (PAGE) just before each = table DELETE and ALTER TABLE tabname LOCK MODE (ROW) right after. This = will reduce the locks on your tables. I hope that your experience will help me out with this problem: I'm creating a program to archive records and to delete those = records every month ( or week). Right now, i'm getting an error message saying = that there is=20 "too many locks".
