Had a somewhat similar problem with 7.13uc2 on Solaris 2.4. We would
get similar error message after building an index on a 50 million row
table. Informix tech support told us to build the index with
NUMCPUVPS=1. Normally we set it to 9 seeing we have 10 cpu's. At the
lower setting the error message went away. Tech support said it was a
bug with large tables. They weren't specific if the bug was with the
create index or the oncheck -cI. They seemed to feel it was with theoncheck. We stopped pursuing it because we found a work around. We
don't drop the index anymore.
