Re: mainframe client for Informix

I've used a piece of software from a company Gresham to do this in the past, basically its a set of C libraries for Unix, and chunk of COBOL on the mainframe. Don't have any contact information but they must be on the Web. If you can't find them give me an email and I'll have a dig around the office Paul Watson ---------- From: Mike Segel To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: mainframe client for informix Date: 02 March 1999 17:04 Uhmm, Depends on what do you mean "client"? There exist DRDA gateway products. (I forget the latest release). This would give you DB2 to Informix connectivity. Now its been a couple of years since I did this, but AFAIK, DRDA required an LU6.2 session not TCP/IP. I trust that its been updated.... There is also several other parties which have packages to do similar connections to DB2. I'd be careful. Last time I looked, some of it was vaporware. But you may want to look at an ODBC client to CICS. (Or is that only one way...) Sorry for the vagueness, but its been awhile. This should at least point you in the right direction. -Mikey Yan Zhu wrote: > hello: > > My company is using Mainframe Unisys 1100, we want to be able to > talk to a informix server 7.23 on solaris 2.6, is there a client > available for that? > thanks a lot > yan
