Hi Is it possible to configure either c4gl or 4gl to use gnu C on our AIX box? Thanks in advance D. Escott email: ravage@rtype.com
oops - we have informix verion 4.17. I did try "INFORMIXC=gcc; export INFORMIXC" after surfing dejanews for clues. Shame it didnt work =( The error message says after phase 3 fails... | | The following errors were discovered during compilation. | |gcc: unrecognized option `-qarch=com' |collect2: /usr/lib/libc.a: not an import library | Thanks D. HI! Thanks again for everyone whose helped me so far! I still seem to be getting this error message: | | The following errors were discovered during compilation. | |collect2: /usr/lib/libc.a: not an import library Any tips? I see the file /lusr/lib/libc.a is a link file to /usr/ccs/lib/libc.a heres the file details: -r-xr-xr-x 2 bin bin 5930595 Sep 17 1998 libc.a seems rather old to me... I only installed gcc this week! :P Regards D. In article <7pj1gp$93i$1@taliesin.netcom.net.uk>, "Ravage" <ravage @ Rtype.com> says... > HI! > > Thanks again for everyone whose helped me so far! > > I still seem to be getting this error message: > | > | The following errors were discovered during compilation. > | > |collect2: /usr/lib/libc.a: not an import library > Any tips? Same thing here (AIX 4.3.2). This was a helpfull message from Informix support: "Installation of operating system libraries is outside of the services provided by Informix Technical support. I suggest you refer your inquiries to your unix administrator." After installing AIX C compiler (~4000 US$), it was working fine. But after that, I did not try GCC. Email me if you want me to try.
